Stu & Suzanne
It seems so long ago now, but back in July I travelled out to Marrakech for the much anticipated wedding of Stu & Suzanne. When I met Stu and Suzanne over 2 years ago now, I knew instantly that I HAD to shoot their wedding. I clicked with them immediately, they were fun, relaxed and their wedding sounded so ‘me’. It was that perfect combination of Modern, traditional, Western and Middle Eastern.
I flew out a few days early with all their family and friends, which made the trip even better because I really got the chance to connect with them all before spending a full day with them capturing the wedding. I was really included in all of the activities, both me and my second shooter Amy were invited along to an evening in the Souks drinking, relaxing and bonding with everybody ahead of the big day. The next evening I headed back to the Souks to shoot a pre-wedding session. It seemed silly to travel all that way and not capture traditional Morocco in the photos.
We wandered, explored and generally caused mischief late into the night, using incredibly ornate door ways as back drops whilst motorbikes sped past, and using all the incredible lantern shops to light our images. I was so glad that we got to explore this side of Morocco, it was a true assault on the senses, and I loved every minute of it. Take a look below at their pre-shoot.
Their wedding film can be viewed at the bottom of the blog.
"Explore and discover that which is within.
When we find ourselves, we are more easily found by others.
Without words, without even understanding,
lovers find each other.
The moment of finding is always a surprise,
like meeting an old friend never before known.
Life and marriage are a wondrous journey,
ever unfolding an opportunity
to rediscover ourselves and our beloved,
again and again for even on a shared journey,
the only thing constant is change.
Embrace it and let it lead you,
to many glorious tomorrow."
