Jason & Caroline

There is nothing I love more, than small intimate weddings. The contemplative excited quiet time spent getting ready, the love and happiness shared between the most special people in your life, the laughter and joy during the speeches, and the hilarity and craziness of all the dancing in the evening. They are some of the best weddings to capture.

So when I had the pleasure of photographing the half Australian half English wedding day of Jason & Caroline, it really was everything I love about weddings. Thanks to our heatwave over summer we were treated to a beautifully sunny afternoon which meant Jason & Caroline were able to say ‘I do’ outside overlooking rolling fields and trees, the epitome of classic British countryside. Situated on top of the perfectly imperfect paving stones, which were parting to make way for overgrown grass and weeds. (It sounds like neglect, but really it’s completely purposeful.) The rugged unkempt paving made for the most amazing setting for their small ceremony.

Following their ceremony, they spent time chatting, laughing and enjoying some amazing canapés under the sunshine with all their family and friends. And in true British style the canapés were all carefully chosen English mini meals, like fish and chips with mushy peas, bangers and mash and many more. All for their Aussie guests to enjoy, and have a real taste of Britain.

The rest of their day was spent drinking, eating and enjoying the day in true British/Aussie style. Raucous laughter and drunkenness, and of course plenty of dancing. It was a real pleasure to be a small part of such an amazing day. Thank you to Caroline and Jason’s family and friends for making me feel so welcome and included. I had the best day.
